Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry

We are so happy you have chosen to learn more about children’s dentistry. We are dedicated to providing a positive experience for you and your child and to giving you the tools you need to help your child maintain good dental health. Our focus is education and prevention. We believe that a healthy mouth and a healthy body go hand in hand…

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You will see some changes at your child’s appointment to help keep you, your children, and our team safe. The following have been implemented:

  • Our schedulers may communicate with you two days before the appointment via telephone to screen for possible COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. If there have been any symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, loss of taste or smell), or any exposure by anyone in your family, please call immediately to reschedule your appointments.
  • The number of people in our office will be strictly limited and only one adult allowed to accompany one patient. In some cases, one adult per family.
  • Appointment times have been adjusted to allow for social distancing between patients and we have added extra time to each appointment to allow greater time between patients
  • Upon arrival:
    • Please text us (New Ulm – 507-354-8943) or (Mankato – 507-387-4078) when you have arrived
    • We ask that you stay in your vehicle until we have text you back that we are ready for you to enter the building
    • You and your children should be wearing masks upon entering our office
    • Hand sanitizer will be provided for you to utilize once you arrive
    • Your temperatures will be taken, screening questionnaire reviewed as well as medical history updated
    • Our dental team will then guide you through the appointment, abiding by the guidelines
  • All books, toys, iPads and the Play Area have been removed or blocked off to help minimize the spread of disease. While these things have changed our staff will continue to make it a warm and caring setting for your child.

We appreciate your understanding as we implement the necessary safety precautions for your child and your family.

As pediatric dentists, Drs. Ovalle, Bothun and Solie are uniquely trained for two years beyond a dental degree to care for the oral health and dental development of infants, children, adolescents and special needs patients.
